Bill Prince, the best-kept secret in jazz, joins the Stetson University Jazz Ensemble in concert on the Athens Theatre stage. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Bill has performed in renown big bands led by Xavier Cugat, Ray Anthony, Tex Beneke, Les and Larry Elgart, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, and Louis Bellson, to name a few. He has appeared on TV shows in the United States, Canada, Japan, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Ecuador and has performed on over 50 albums, including his own recording, The Best Kept Secret in Jazz.  He can currently be heard on Duffy Jackson's CD, Swing! Swing! Swing!, and Buddy Rich's recordings, Mercy Mercy, and The Best of Buddy Rich. When Bill was asked to join Buddy Rich, he was first offered a chair in the saxophone section but ended up performing in the trumpet section instead. A veritable one-man jazz band, Bill is one of those rare individuals who is equally adept at numerous instruments, including trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone, flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano and electric bass. In fact, in 2001 he produced his own CD, Happy Thoughts, on which he composed, arranged and performed all parts.
