Swinging into Spring 

The Stetson University Jazz Ensemble is honored to share the stage with dynamic vocalist, Michelle Amato. A veteran jazz  and popular singer, Michelle has performed and recorded with some of the legends of the business, including Liza Minelli, Al Green, Sandi Patty, Jon Secada, Donna Summer, Michael McDonald, Ira Sullivan, Jon Hendricks, Celia Cruz, Rita Marley and world-renowned composer Yanni. Her solo work can be heard on Yanni’s recording, “Ethnicity” as well as his DVD, “Yanni Live”. Michelle’s own debut CD “I’m All Smiles” is available at 

Michelle has been a featured soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Memphis Symphony, South Florida Pops, the Baton Rouge Symphony, Florida West Coast Symphony and the Orlando Philharmonic. In addition to performing for numerous cruise lines, she remains extremely active in the recording studio as a singer and contractor for Warner Brothers, Alfred and Shawnee Press Publications, and the Walt Disney Company, as well as numerous jingle production companies throughout the country. 

Michelle has a Master’s Degree from the prestigious University of Miami School of Music and is high demand as an educator and clinician. She has conducted master classes and clinics for The International Association of Jazz Educators, Grammy in the Schools, the North American Cultural Center in San Jose, Costa Rica, and various groups at Walt Disney World. Her adjudicating duties have included The National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, The Florida Vocal Association, and various jazz societies.
