SUMMARY:Rocky Horror Picture Show with Shadow Cast
DESCRIPTION:Don your leather jacket\, corset\, and fishnet tights—because DeLand Pride and the Absent Friends are bringing the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show back to the Athens Theatre after much “antici…pation.” \nExperiencing “Rocky” for the first time? Or maybe the 100th? We invite you to come do “The Time Warp” again! \nThe fun begins before the film with live drag performances from DeLand Pride (bring those $ bills for tips!)\, followed by the Absent Friends and emcee Robert Baldwin welcoming—and hilariously initiating—our “Rocky Virgins.” \nThen it’s time for the 1975 20th Century Fox cult classic\, accompanied by a live shadow cast performing the movie onstage as it plays on the big screen. Expect dancing\, callbacks\, audience participation\, and plenty of Rocky Horror mayhem! \nThe film follows newly engaged and admittedly naïve couple Brad and Janet\, who find themselves stranded on a stormy night and seek refuge in the nearby castle of the strange (yet alluring) Dr. Frank-N-Furter. From there\, things become increasingly ridiculous\, raunchy\, and\, above all\, fun. \nAudience-participation prop bags will be available for purchase at both performances. Come in costume\, sing along\, dance the dances\, shout the callbacks\, and put those approved props to good use! \nPlease note: Only approved audience-participation props are permitted. Any unapproved props will be confiscated at the door. \nFlorida law requires us to state that this is an 18-and-over event. Individuals under the age of 18 will not be admitted. A valid ID is required for entry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReserved Seating\n\n\n\nGeneral Seating (1st come\, 1st serve) $25 \nAudience Participation Prop Bags  $15.00 (Purchase these in advance and make sure to bring your receipt to the show!) \nA $5.00 per ticket processing charge is added to all purchases. \nDue to the fact that the Historic Athens Theatre does not have an elevator to the balcony. The balcony is not accessible to anyone with a wheelchair or walker. \nAll Patrons with special needs can contact the Box Office at 386-736-1500 for our wheelchair/walker accessible seating.
