SUMMARY:Ultimate Tribute to HEART
DESCRIPTION:No other tribute act can bring the iconic rock hits of Ann & Nancy Wilson and HEART to life like LOVE ALIVE\, The Ultimate HEART Tribute. Like Heart\, Love Alive is fronted by two extraordinarily talented ladies. Keturah is one of the very few people on the planet who can do justice to Ann Wilson’s soaring\, explosive vocals\, and JD faithfully executes the near-impossible tasks required to recreate Nancy Wilson’s lead and backing vocals\, electric and acoustic guitar work\, and signature moves onstage. \nThis six-piece band has gone to great lengths to provide the most accurate\, authentic\, and energetic performance of this great music you will find anywhere in the nation. Both sonically and visually\, LOVE ALIVE is a dead ringer for HEART when performing hits including Barracuda\, Crazy On You\, Alone\, Magic Man\, These Dreams\, and all of their finest songs. LOVE ALIVE also performs absolutely stunning renditions of songs frequently covered by HEART\, including Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin) and Love Reign O’er Me (The Who). \nIf you are ready for the very best HEART tribute\, then LOVE ALIVE is ready for you. \n\nRESERVE SEATING\nPreferred Reserved Seating $35\n1st. 6 rows Orchestra & 2 Rows Center Balcony \nGeneral Reserved Seating $30 \nA $3.00 per ticket Processing charge is added to all purchases and we collect a 6.5% State and County Sales Tax \nDue to the fact that the Historic Athens Theatre does not have an elevator to the balcony. SUMMARY:Aint Misbehavin’
DESCRIPTION:Cool Music for a Hot Summer \nMusic by Thomas “Fats” Waller\, Conceived by Richard Maltby\, Jr. Murray Horwitz\, Lyrics by Various\nAin’t Misbehavin’ features rollicking\, humorous songs in this show’s intoxicating tribute to the music of Fats Waller and Swing musicians he inspired during the 1920’s and 1930’s Harlem Renaissance. \nThe musical is a tribute to the Black musicians of the 1920s and 1930s who were part of the Harlem Renaissance\, an era of growing creativity\, cultural awareness\, and ethnic pride\, and takes its title from the 1929 Fats Waller song “Ain’t Misbehavin’.” It was a time when Manhattan nightclubs like the Cotton Club and the Savoy Ballroom were the playgrounds of high society and Lenox Avenue dives were filled with piano players banging out the new beat known as swing. Six Black performers present an evening of rowdy\, raunchy\, and humorous songs that encapsulate the various moods of the era and reflect Waller’s view of life as a journey meant for pleasure and play. \nThe recipient of major recognition including an Olivier Award in London for best musical\, a Drama Desk Award for Best Revival of a Musical\, and Broadway and Tony awards for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical\, Aint Misbehavin’ (according to The New York Times reviewer) brings “zing and sparkle” to its audiences. The show includes such favorites as “Ain’t Misbehavin’\,” “The Joint is Jumpin’\,” “Black and Blue\,” “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter\,” and “I Can’t Give you Anything but Love.” \nYou will be delighted by joining us for our celebration of the truly legendary jazz great that was Fats Waller and of the Swing music he originated. \nRun time: 2 hours & 20 minutes (plus a 15-minute intermission) \nPresented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) \n  \nDue to a ticketing system system issue\, please call the Box Office at 386-736-1500 to process your Season Ticket
