The Athens is operated almost exclusively by volunteers, including the Board of Directors, the ushers and all of the talent you see on stage. Despite minimal administrative expenses, the cost of running the Athens Theatre and bringing you outstanding entertainment is over $1,000,000 a year.  To give you an idea, to produce a Broadway musical like “Singin’ In the Rain,” that drew over 5,000 people to the theatre, it cost us over $112,000.

Unfortunately, ticket sales account for only about 65% of our needed revenue. If you have enjoyed our productions and want us to be able to bring continued quality performances to our stage, we need your support now.
