What the Athens Theatre Is Doing to Keep You Safe
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WE ARE TAKING
- Masks:
- Following CDC recommendations we recommend wearing masks, but we no longer require them.
- The theatre has masks available for anyone who wishes to have one.
- As we have moved back towards full seating capacity, for our theatrical productions we have kept the back two rows downstairs and the upper balcony with socially-distant seating available for patrons who do not feel comfortable right next to other patrons to call and ask for. We will block off a seat on either side of your ticketed seats. You must call the box office and ask for this option.
- Air purification systems have been installed in our air handlers.
- The concession stand has been completely and beautifully encased to ensure the safety of our workers and those purchasing concessions.
- Hands-free sanitizer stations are set up at the doors and throughout the theatre. Everyone is encouraged to use them regularly.
- The theatre is being completely disinfected prior to each performance.
- Prior to performances, patrons will receive an email asking them to arrive at staggered times determined by seating locations (This will help avoid crowds gathering outside the box office and in the lobby.)
- Partitions have been created to separate each sink and urinal in the bathrooms.
- Actor and production team safety measures can be found HERE
All policies, including masks, ticketing, and attendance, are subject to change based on evolving guidance from the CDC. Patrons will be informed prior to their performance date of protocols and ticket vouchers will be offered if requested.
